CorruTec ASIA 2021 Holds Inaugural Edition in Bangkok alongside PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL
A new addition to the Messe Düsseldorf Asia (MDA) portfolio, CorruTec ASIA – International Corrugated Technology Exhibition for Asia, will debut from 22 to 25 September 2021 at BITEC, Bangkok, Thailand. A joint collaboration with the Thai Corrugated Packaging Association (TCPA), it is a dedicated exhibition for manufacturers and suppliers of machinery, accessories, technology and services from the corrugated and folding carton industries.
CorruTec ASIA aims to provide an ideal sourcing platform for industry experts from corrugated sheet and box manufacturers, folding carton converters, rigid carton manufacturers to vertical markets such as packaging designers and product managers from the food, cosmetics, luxury goods, medicine, automotive sectors and more. Held alongside the well-established PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, the co-located exhibitions will represent the synergistic industries and end-to-end value chain for the packaging, printing and corrugated industries.
With global online sales expected to hit USD5.5 trillion in 2023, this will create a significant impact on packaging demand, particularly in the corrugated industry which represents 80% of demand in e-commerce. Coupled with the increasingly complex logistics chain for direct to consumer delivery – e-commerce packages are expected to be handled up to 20 times or more during standard distribution, thus generating a new demand for cost-effective secondary corrugated board packaging. Thailand’s folding carton and corrugated packaging market is expected to register a CAGR of 8.42% through to 2025, driven by the innovative paper based packaging developments in the country and advances in digital printing technologies, making Thailand an ideal location to launch CorruTec ASIA.
Commenting on the partnership with MDA and co-location with PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, Chusak Deetrakunwattanapoen, President, TCPA, said, “The international expertise and regional know-how of MDA coupled with TCPA’s industry network make for a winning partnership in providing a targeted platform for the corrugated manufacturing sector; representing a broad range of corrugated packaging demand in related industries including food & beverage, transport and logistics, healthcare and others domestically, regionally and internationally.”
“The co-location of the exhibition with PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL will also be a strong complement for the synergistic industries, and together I believe we are sending a positive and powerful message to the markets that will be beneficial for all involved,” he added.
Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, said, “As a regionally focused event, and based on the genuine demand from the industry garnered from our market research and discussions with TCPA, the introduction of CorruTec ASIA 2021 is an exciting addition to the industry calendar. Especially on the back of a post pandemic landscape which has seen dynamic market changes – from companies looking at relocating supply chains, the rise in e-commerce and strong demand for packaged food, to its [corrugated packaging] reputation as one of the most used eco-friendly packaging solutions – we believe that the exhibition is well-timed and that the industries will be business-ready at CorruTec ASIA.”
With the packaging and printing sectors among the 13 industries expected to expand in a post pandemic era according to the Federation of Thai Industries, the co-location of CorruTec ASIA with PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL (PPI), was also well-received by The Thai Packaging Association and The Thai Printing Association – both co-organisers of PPI together with Messe Düsseldorf Asia.
Manit Kamolsuwan, President, The Thai Packaging Association expressed that the co-location of the two shows is key to furthering pack-print’s symbiotic relationship. He is confident that the innovative printing technologies presented will contribute to elevating both the carton manufacturing process and end users’ experience, and that business owners stand to benefit from the co-located shows with its full suite of accompanying seminars and events.
Drawing on the successes of past editions of PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL, with its broadening internationality and numbers of both exhibitors and visitors, Pongthira Pathanapiradej, President, The Thai Printing Association says, “(This) is indeed confirmation of why this event is the most important for the printing and packaging sector in this region. I believe that the 8th edition of PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL will bring in more success with its pertinent and timely co-location with CorruTec ASIA.”
