Water Consumption for Screen Cleaning Reduced by 90 Per Cent with Fabricare
IBS Paper Performance Group has successfully commissioned two FabriCare ultra-high-pressure cleaning systems at a customer site in Germany. Thanks to the FabriCare systems, water consumption for cleaning the forming wire on a gapformer paper machine was reduced from 330l/min to just 32l/min – a significant reduction of more than 90 per cent.
FabriCare cleaning systems guarantee perfect cleaning and consistent performance of machine screens in the screening and drying sections throughout their entire service life, while minimising operating costs. In the screening section, the system not only minimises water consumption but also significantly improves machine hygiene by preventing spray mist and the resulting deposits. Customers also benefit from reduced chemical consumption and substantial energy savings achieved by eliminating or reducing the vacuum in the tube suction boxes.
In addition to its application in wet ends, the IBS Paper Performance Group also offers a specialised solution for drying screens with FabriCare DryEnd. This system ensures consistent screen performance throughout its service life, resulting in fewer web breaks, an optimised moisture profile, and improved heat transfer. A further crucial advantage is the elimination of manual cleaning: this not only reduces production downtime but also eliminates health risks for personnel from working in hot environments.
