AF&PA Elects Domtar’s Steve Henry as Chair and Appoints New Board Leaders

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) has announced the election of Steve Henry, Paper & Packaging CEO and President USA at Domtar, as the association’s incoming Board Chair. The announcement was made during AF&PA’s recent Winter Board of Directors’ Meeting, where industry leaders from across the pulp, paper, packaging and tissue sectors gathered to advance shared priorities for the year ahead.

“Steve is a trusted leader whose deep industry knowledge and steady commitment to our shared priorities will serve the Board and the entire AF&PA membership well,” said Heidi Brock, AF&PA President and CEO. “I’m grateful for his willingness to serve and confident he will help guide the association through another year of meaningful progress.”

The AF&PA Board of Directors represents a broad cross-section of companies in the paper and wood products manufacturing sector, operating mills and converting facilities in nearly every U.S. state—often in rural communities that rely on the industry for economic stability.

In addition to Henry’s election as Chair, AF&PA announced the following officers:

  • First Vice Chair: Arsen Kitch, President & CEO, Clearwater Paper Corporation
  • Second Vice Chair: Andrew Silvernail, Chairman & CEO, International Paper
  • Immediate Past Chair: Mark Kowlzan, Chairman & CEO, Packaging Corporation of America

AF&PA also welcomed Robbert Rietbroek, President and CEO of Graphic Packaging International, as a newly elected member of the Board of Directors. Graphic Packaging has been a member of AF&PA since 2007, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to the U.S. paper and packaging industry and sustainable consumer packaging.

“We are pleased to welcome Robbert to the AF&PA Board,” Brock said. “His contributions will be an asset as our advocacy efforts continue prioritising policies that enhance industry competitiveness and sustainability.”

AF&PA also announced the election and re-election of additional Board members and welcomed new company and associate members to the association, further strengthening its leadership and collective voice.
